Inspiration & Design

Every piece begins with an idea. Inspiration may come from birds, flowers, animals, seasonal traditions, or the personal stories shared by our customers. The idea is developed into a detailed design that defines the shapes, proportions, and arrangement of each individual glass element.

This initial stage establishes the character of the finished artwork and guides every step that follows.

Selecting the Glass

Once the design is ready, we select stained glass for each part of the composition. Color is only one consideration: transparency, texture, pattern, and the way the material responds to light all influence the final appearance.

Because every sheet of real stained glass has its own natural variations, two finished pieces may differ slightly while preserving the same original design.

Hand Cutting & Shaping

The selected glass is carefully cut into separate pieces according to the design. Each fragment is then shaped and refined so that it fits naturally beside the surrounding elements.

This stage requires precision and patience, particularly when working with curved outlines, small decorative details, and recognizable features such as feathers, petals, leaves, or wings.

Copper Foiling & Soldering

Each prepared glass fragment is wrapped around the edges with thin copper foil. The pieces are then arranged according to the design and joined together through soldering.

The soldered lines hold the composition together while also defining its visual structure. They become part of the artwork, emphasizing its contours and giving it the distinctive appearance associated with the Tiffany technique.

Finishing the Piece

After assembly, every piece is carefully cleaned and polished to reveal the colors, textures, and details of the stained glass. The completed artwork is now ready to interact with light and bring color and character into its new home.
